Decadent Crockpot Hot Chocolate

There's something magical about the winter season that calls for cozy blankets, crackling fires, and the comforting aroma of hot chocolate wafting through the air. If you're ready to elevate your hot chocolate experience to new heights of indulgence, look no further than our Decadent Crockpot Hot Chocolate recipe. Brace yourself for a liquid symphony of rich flavors and luxurious textures that will warm not just your hands but your soul.

This is my go-to recipe for any holiday party! Pair this with marshmallows and whipped cream and it is amazing but if you want to kick it up a notch I love to pair it with extra add-ins like Peanut butter chips, Butterscotch chips, Chocolate-Mint Chips, crushed peppermints, or flavored marshmallows. Most of the time I can find Peppermint marshmallows or chocolate-filled marshmallows also pair well.

Decadent Crockpot Hot Chocolate

Homemade hot chocolate reigns supreme over its boxed counterparts for a multitude of reasons. Firstly, the quality of ingredients in homemade recipes far surpasses the processed contents found in commercial mixes. By selecting premium chocolate, fresh dairy, and personalized sweeteners, you have the power to tailor the flavor to your exact liking. Additionally, the absence of preservatives and artificial additives ensures a purer, more authentic taste that truly captures the essence of real hot chocolate.

This is better than the expensive hot chocolate in NYC! –Sherry

Ingredients

This recipe will fit in a normal-size crockpot. Should be for 6-10 people. I always double the recipe and make it in my extra-large crockpot for large gatherings. But any crockpot you have should work.

  • 6 cups of milk (I use 2%)

  • 2 cups of heavy cream

  • 1 can of condensed milk

  • 1/4 cup of unsweetened baking cocoa

  • 1-2 Tablespoons of pure vanilla extract

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or chocolate bar cut into chunks

Directions

  1. Prepare the Crockpot:

  2. Combine Ingredients:

  3. Stir and Whisk:

  4. Cover and Let It Simmer: Place the lid on the Crockpot and let the mixture simmer on low heat. Allow it to slowly meld and infuse for at least 1 hour.

  5. Taste and Adjust: Take a moment to taste your hot chocolate. If you desire more sweetness or flavor, consider adding a bit more sweetened condensed milk or vanilla extract or maybe a sprinkle of sea salt. Adjust to your liking.

  6. Serve and Enjoy: Once you're satisfied with the flavor and consistency, ladle the hot chocolate into mugs. Feel free to garnish with whipped cream, a sprinkle of cocoa powder, or your favorite toppings. My favorite is to add some peanut butter chips, marshmallows, and whipped cream! What's your favorite way?

This rich and decadent crockpot hot chocolate is sure to become a winter favorite, at both parties or just having a cup next to a fire with a good book! So, the next time you find yourself yearning for a moment of pure decadence, let your Crockpot work its magic and immerse yourself in the delight of our Decadent Crockpot Hot Chocolate.
