S'mores Graham Krispie Treats

Ingredients

  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter ( I cut this into smaller chunks so it melts easily)

  • 1 box of golden grahams cereal (family size 18.9 oz)

  • 1 TBS of vanilla extract

  • 1 bag of mini marshmallows (10 oz)

  • 7 ounces of chocolate chips or chunks ~ half a bag (you can use Milk chocolate or dark chocolate, pick one you like more) + more for topping

  • Non-Stick Spray

Directions

  1. I find the best pot to make this is a deep stock pot. It just makes mixing the cereal easier.

  2. Start the burner on medium, and melt butter in the stock pot.

  3. After the butter is almost melted add mini marshmallows.

  4. Mix to coat the marshmallows. These should start to melt within 5 mins. keep mixing!

  5. After the marshmallows are almost completely melted. Add the Vanilla. All the marshmallows don't need to be melted as long as 90% are (See photo below)

  6. Turn off the heat.

  7. Add the box of Golden Grahams. ( We leave about 1 cup to have a bowl of cereal later lol)

  8. Start mixing the cereal and melted marshmallows together.

  9. After the cereal starts to get coated add your chocolate chips. The residual heat will slowly start to melt your chocolate.

  10. Mix well

  11. Take a 9x13 pan and put a light coating of Non-Stick Spray on it.

  12. Dump the mixture into the greased 9x13 pan. We also suggest pressing down to make the mixture all level.

  13. Add sprinkles for a fun festive addition.

  14. Let the bars rest for 1 hour or put them in the fridge for 30 mins just to harden. It will make it easier to cut and eat.

  15. Enjoy! We leave ours covered on the counter and eat them through the week. Or you can cut them into individual squares and wrap them in plastic wrap. They make the perfect back-to-school or any-day treat.

I hope that this recipe has sparked your imagination and encouraged you to explore the endless possibilities of dessert creations. Feel free to add your own twists – perhaps a sprinkle of toasted coconut, a drizzle of caramel, maybe peanut butter, or a pinch of sea salt to elevate the flavors even further.

Beyond the scrumptious taste, the best part of S'mores Graham Krispie Treats lies in the memories they create. As you share these delightful treats with loved ones, you'll find yourself transported back to carefree nights around the campfire, toasting marshmallows and cherishing the simple joys of life.
